Granola is the classic healthy food, right? Not exactly.
Many packaged granola mixes are drowning in sugar, but there are ways to make it work, especially when you create your own.
this makes makes 5 cups
2 cups nuts (use any nuts you like) chopped roughly
2 table spoon Brazil nuts
1/4 cup Pumpkin Seeds
1/4 cup Sunflower seeds
1/4 cup Hazelnuts
1/4 cup Almond
1/4 cup flaxseed (whole)
1 cup Coconut flakes
4-5 tablespoons coconut oil (or butter), melted
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 tablespoon Stevia (for sweetening) or use a fruit juicer
Preheat oven to 120 C/ 240 F.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl including the cinnamon, vanilla powder and stevia/apple juice, spread evenly on baking paper on a tray and bake for about 15-20 minutes, until golden, turning halfway.
When golden remove and cool immediately to get it crispy.
